Client Overview

The City of Jersey City, through the Jersey City Housing Authority (JCHA), offers affordable housing options for low-income families, seniors, and persons with disabilities. JCHA is New Jersey's second-largest public housing authority, serving over 15,000 residents. The city needed a more efficient way to manage and provide access to affordable housing units spread across multiple programs.

Challenges

The existing process to access affordable housing units in Jersey City was inefficient, requiring residents to go through repetitive, confusing, and time-consuming application processes. The lack of a unified process and platform made it difficult for the city to collect, process, and maintain data effectively. To address these issues and improve access to affordable housing, Jersey City sought a solution that could serve as a consolidated platform for searching, finding, and applying for affordable housing units.

Complex and Repetitive Application Processes

Residents had to navigate multiple programs and agencies, leading to confusion and delays.

Data Fragmentation

The absence of a unified platform made data collection and processing inefficient.

Limited Accessibility

Lack of a centralized platform limited residents' ability to easily access affordable housing information.
