What is Horton Works?.
The Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) product includes Apache Hadoop and is used for storing, processing, and analyzing large volumes of data. The platform is designed to deal with data from many sources and formats.
Pros:
- Knowledge base of the original committers.
- SmartSense of HDP is a great way of understanding the problems before they happen.
- Integrates very well with Apache Phoenix (SQL on Hadoop).
Cons:
- Installation is highly complex and needs to be streamlined.
- The platform itself needs to be a little more stable.
- Version upgrades are more challenging than anticipate.
