Enterprise Reporting Tool

Denver Water, the largest municipal public utility in Colorado, faced challenges in enterprise reporting using manual processes and disparate data sources. Intellectyx intervened, spearheading the design, development, and implementation of an advanced Enterprise Reporting Tool (ERT). Leveraging Microsoft and Azure Stack, the proposed cloud-hosted platform integrates with diverse data sources through custom-developed connectors. Data profiling and cleansing are performed, and the refined data is stored in a centralized data warehouse for efficient reporting and visualization.

 

Data pipelines, scheduled for ingestion from disparate data stores, load data into Azure Data Lake Storage. Azure Databricks/Apache Spark processes the data for preparation, including transformation and cleansing, before loading it into Azure SQL Data Warehouse. Power BI facilitates analysis, visualization, and reporting. The consolidated master data is linked to all participating applications, and synchronized with enterprise processes, ensuring data accuracy.

 

The result is a streamlined reporting process for Denver Water, enabling data normalization and centralization in a data warehouse. The ERT empowers the team to build interactive visualizations, drill-down and roll-up reports, and dashboards, meeting business requirements efficiently and promoting a more data-centric approach throughout the organization.
